Homemade Cards

Like milk and cookies, birthdays and cards just go together. So try something new, and make your own card.

Photobucket

Add details to your card, like a name and date of birth and your favorite picture together as a personal touch you couldn't find in a card you bought at the store.

It's simple! Just find the right tools and inspiration and you'll be well on your way to making a memorable birthday gift.

Homemade Apple Pie

Morning, noon, or night- a piece of homemade apple pie is heavenly.

Photobucket

How amazing would it be to be given a warm, cinnamon spiked, flaky, homemade apple pie for your birthday? I mean cakes are good and all, but for a fall birthday to celebrate the changing weather and changing years- why not try sticking the candles in something different this year?

And while you're at it make two! One for you and one for your homies.

Homemade Thanksgiving Table Prezzies

Ever since I can remember Thanksgiving has been at our house, and ever since I can remember the table settings have been a big deal. Each person gets to take home a little prezzie that is placed at their table. In the past we have made little boxes filled with chocolates, homemade salts with little spoons, or little picture frames with fall pictures in them. So even though Thanksgiving is still 2 months away, my mom and I like to brainstorm in advance in order to be EXTRA prepared for the big day!

Here is an option I came up with for one of the tables:

Leaf Pens!

Made with:
Ribbon, found around the house.
Leaf decorations from Pier 1 found here.
Pens, found around the house.

Directions:
Wrap pen with ribbon
Hot glue end of ribbon at the top of the pen.

attach leaf.

TaDa! Leaf pens! you can attach the pens to a notepad or tie them on the napkin at the table for a festive look.

Homemade Sign

It's a Party...Sign

21st Birthday Best: make it personal.
Everyone can give a hangover kit- water, Gatorade, Aspirin, and another bottle of booze. So change it up a bit as you stick with the 21st birthday theme and make a party sign!

Sign Materials:
1 piece plywood- $7
1 can spray paint- $4
2 packs of clear push pins- $3 (found at Target)
String- $4 (Found at Joanns)
Total= About $18.00

Compared to Anthropologie's letters:

$14.00 a piece
1 piece Plywood- $7
Total for "Party" Sign= $77.00

For $59 Dollars cheaper you can make a personal sign for your friend to hang on their wall and remember you by!!
