Cinnamon and Spice

Just the smell of cinnamon brings memories of winter and snuggling and all things delicious. I never thought there would be a huge difference between different types of cinnamon. But last year when my mom and I bought this "extra fancy Vietnamese cinnamon" from Penzeys Spices in Phoenix, we never looked back to ordinary cinnamon.


We've used it in apple pie (here ), in hot chocolate, in snicker doodles, and so much more.

Make a Sign

Make a homemade sign and string it across their room or living room so when they wake up or walk in they really feel like it's their special day

I folded paper into squares and wrote "happy birthday" with sharpie on the front. Then I measured yarn to the length of the room, cut it, and strung the paper on the yarn evenly. I paper clipped the ends so the bottom was weighted down and stapled the sides so the squares would stay on.
